The genius of Cuyana lies in its simplicity.
In the airy showroom floating above Union Square, a delightful alchemy of unassuming elegance is taking place. You can see it in the buttery leather of a dove grey envelope clutch. It’s unmistakeable in the patina of a necklace’s delicate craftsmanship. Cuyana’s designs have distilled luxury down to its essence without ever skimping on the personal touches that make a piece special.
Certain objects seem to take up residence in your life – a wallet that gets better with time, a scarf that never loses its appeal. As I chronicle the journey of my Habits series this year, I’m scaling back with intention and focusing on quality. That’s why designs from Everlane and Cuyana are my go-to’s.
Karla and Shilpa, the design savants behind Cuyana, recently hosted a design panel that brought together a rich cross section of creative minds for a freewheeling conversation about the meaning of “fewer, better things.” The mission of paring down with intention (and plenty of joy) resonates with me as well as you, judging by recent conversations I’ve had with readers.
