A recent weekend morning felt right to trot out some crisp tennis whites. The key to monochrome dressing is texture: if you keep everything the exact same fabric or color, you’ll risk looking like a well-dressed monk. A head to toe hue is best pulled off with an eye towards clothing qualities beyond color: draping, fabric weight, texture, pattern and silhouette.
Here, a nautical rope necklace plays well with others: stark white stovepipe jeans, an equally white cable cross-front top that drapes with a nice Sunday morning slouch and jute rope sandals that I’ve logged at least fifty miles in so far this summer. One trick I love with white jeans: have the front pockets removed and sewn shut for a sleek, seam-free look.
Off to brunch! With a side of Scotchguard. Thanks to Queen of Jet Lags for the inspiration!
